It is worthwhile reading the email from Rafael Saladini, who has just broken the South-American distance record and the WORLD footlaunch record
It was 397km in 10 hours and 11 minutes, an average of less than 40km/h by para-glider…. Not bad !!!!
Congratulations Sardinha..... these people are just amazing
Congratulations also to Ary da Sol who invests heavily in his team !
Take note... the guy is a novice in flying... and this was the first flight this year. The Sol team will remain in Quixadá till the XCeará, training…
The season in the Sertão is just beginning...Jacobina Open…SOSertão Rally…XCeará… will we be able to handle it ?
This year looks promising...
Good flights everyone,
Chico Santos

Winged friends:
I would like to thank all my full time masters, who in these my almost 5 years of practice, have taught me and supported me in every occasion.
The names are so many that I am sure I will end up forgetting some important ones. They were people who taught me everything I know and who contributed to every kilometer of this flight.
People who apart from teaching me to fly, taught me especially to respect the sport and its limits. They are: Rodrigo Monteiro, Marcelo Prieto, André Fleury, Frank Brown, Caio Zamboni, Bruno Neumann, Caio Porfírio, Eduardo Neves, Marcio Pinto, Cristiano Ricci, Luciano Tcacenco, Kamira Rodrigues, Mahmoud Shehata, Pablo Milholo, Bruno Menescal, Dioclecios Rozendo, Fábio Kogut, Lulu Lima e Silva, Flávio Dias, Glayson de Castro, Sivuca, Alexis, Marcelo Borzino, Kurt.... And others who should be on this list...
The Northeast expedition by Sol got off on its right foot. The first flight was just to organize equipment and get used to the adversities of the place. The condition wasn’t classic, during most of the flight I didn’t catch thermals stronger than 3m/s… I was amazed at how everything was working out so well. Maybe because I was very relaxed and without great expectations…
The proto 11 of the Tracer is rising incredibly well,,,A fundamental characteristic to break these records. The canopy is very safe and permits a glide beyond that necessary to fly 400kms.
I, as I made a mistake at the end, missed out. 3kms were lacking. But this is just a reason to motivate me to break the world record in the next few days.
Ceceu hás just arrived. It doesn’t matter who hits the mark. What matters is that the team will be focused on the 420kms. Flying in pairs will be easier. Alone it’s difficult to keep up the rhythm. My average in the first 200kms was 45km/h. At the end the average generally rises… Mine only fell. I flew 10 hours and 11 minutes. Na average of less than 40km/h... This place will enable flights of 450km. I want to be there to see....
Thank you to everyone who congratulated me. This flight is for Brazil. After all in our country we are tired of the Portuguese …hahaha
Congratulations to Sol for the excellent canopy and for the initiative of investing in sport like no other factory in the world does.
Hugs to all and good flights
Rafael Saladini
PS: On the way to the 430km tomorrow
